Ellen Clegg has been teaching adult ESL (English as a Second Language) since 1979. She is fascinated by the intersection of gaming and learning and has been working on ways to bring more games into the classroom. Through the professional organization for ESL instructors, she has recently learned how to make machinema (videos made in virtual worlds) and is currently working on film projects in both Second Life and World of Warcraft. These short films will give students visual support for grammar and vocabulary points. Ellen will show us examples of machinema she and and other instructors have created for ESL purposes and talk about what's involved in making them.
