The University of Texas at San Antonio is known for the excellent work it does with students, but as an employer, it also invests significantly in the learning needs of staff and faculty. The Training and Development team at UTSA, led by Anne Jett, will share its story of developing a learning model in the past 15 years that provides classroom, online training and organizational development services for the third largest institution in the University of Texas System, eighth largest public university in the state of Texas. Creating institutional partnerships at every level has been a key in allowing this team to excel, but also of critical importance has been the design of an infrastructure to support the learning model. Executive relationships are an integral part of the UTSA training team’s development, but represent only one part of this team’s networking success story. Expect to walk away from this session with tools, techniques and strategies that can be implemented in your own learning departments.
Anne Jett is the Director of Training and Development at UTSA. She has enjoyed a career in Training and Development and Human Performance Improvement that spans more than 2 decades. Her experience includes leading the Learning Function within various industries including hospitality, utilities and higher education. In addition she has served as a Management and Learning Consultant for a number of years with clients across Texas and the Southwest United States, including multiple financial, medical, service industries and government agencies. Nine years ago Ms. Jett achieved Certified Professional in Learning and Performance certification by ASTD as part of a small group of industry pioneers. She has rounded out her experience by implementing a Learning Management infrastructure within a large state university to incorporate on-line and just-in-time learning to serve this employee population of more than 6000.
This monthly learning meeting will be held at the Hilton San Antonio Airport, located on the Northwest 410 Loop Frontage Road between San Pedro and Blanco.
