Using SCORE Concepts to Ensure the Success of Your Training Programs

Networking, marketing, and planning...we hear those words every day. But how can we apply these concepts to our jobs as learning and performance professionals? During our February meeting, Dr. Dave Palmer of Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) will lead a discussion about how we can use all three concepts to ensure the success of our training programs, whether we are small business owners, training managers in large companies, or instructional designers in small training departments. Dr. Palmer is a volunteer at the San Antonio Chapter of SCORE, serving as Chair from 2006 to 2007 and receiving the Counselor of the Year award from the chapter in 2009. Dr. Palmer received his B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Northwestern University and his Ph.D. in American Government from the University of Texas at Austin. He has taught government at various colleges and universities including St. Mary’s University, Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio College, St. Philips College, and Texas State University. Dr. Palmer has served on the board of directors for several non-profit agencies and teaches GED for the San Antonio Independent School District.
