Attend the January ATD – San Antonio Chapter Learning Meeting and find out how you can encourage informal learning in your organization. Only 10 to 20 percent of learning occurs in formal training which means 80 to 90 percent occurs informally. Yet, how much time do we as Talent Development professionals spend on informal learning? Two ways informal learning occurs is through conversation and communities of practice such as our chapter. Come to this meeting to connect with many of your learning peers in the San Antonio area to build a Personal Learning Network (PLN) of your own. In a PLN, a person makes a connection with another person with the specific intent that some type of learning will occur because of that connection. At this session, you will experience the power of informal learning. You will discover more about your peers in a connecting exercise, and participate in a World Café table discussion on the most popular talent development topics. Share your expertise and ask questions to gain more knowledge. You will also learn more about the ATD San Antonio Chapter and how to get involved.
